What to Bring

Boudoir photos typically involve lingerie, but that doesn’t mean that you have to start shopping for a lacy undergarment. Think about what kind of look you’re going for, such as sexy, playful, pinup or glam. You also don’t have to pose in your underwear; you can take great boudoir photos in a modest outfit, such as jeans and a tank top.

If you know your fiancé loves the way you look in his favourite team’s jersey, pair it with cute boyshorts for a playful and cute look. If you want to channel your inner pinup model, there are plenty of outfit choices that range from barely there to full coverage.

Props and accessories such as jewelry, masks, toys, stockings, garters, umbrellas and anything else you can think of make the photos even more special and exciting.

Some Do's and Don'ts

  • Do have lingerie that fits you properly & don’t wait until the last minute to go shopping for new items. Buy outfits that enhance your assets and hide any problem areas.
  • Buy all your outfits with “boob” support!
  • Try to wear matching nail polish on fingers and toes, or clear polish.
  • Moisturise your skin in the morning (do not use moisturiser with sunscreen).
  • Do your hair the way you like it before arriving (unless you are booked in with a stylist during the shoot). Colour your hair, nails, etc at least 3 days before your shoot.
  • Don’t spray tan, you will look orange in your photos.
  • Bring a few different outfits to be photographed in. Bring extra stockings in case of a run.
  • Bring sexy high heels, thigh high boots also look awesome.
  • Do shave legs, underarms, etc the night before. If waxing do so at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Bring a boyfriend/husbands shirt & tie, guitar, helmet jacket, etc. Be creative!
  • Bring enough outfits for your session. It’s always better to have more than less.
  • Bring some fun items like roller skates, funky hats, unique clothing or furry stuff.
  • Do stretch before you come in so your as flexible as possible (Extremely important).
  • Don’t get a spray tan, it can leave dark spots in your poses & usually leaves streaks on hands and feet.
  • Don’t drink alcohol the night before since it is dehydrating and will show on your skin.
  • Drink a lot of water for at least 12 hours before your session.
  • Don’t wear tight fitting clothing to your shoot because it will leave marks which can take hours to disappear.
  • Don’t be nervous or stressed (extremely important for great pics!) and have a blast.
  • Don’t wait until you get to the studio to cut all lingerie tags off, especially the ones sewn into the fabric.
  • Bring slippers and a robe with you to your session for in-between sets.
  • Bring a snack and water, you may be hungry at the end of your shoot.
  • Arrive early.
  • Bring a friend for “Moral Support” it will be fun!
  • Don’t worry about any body imperfections, I know ways to hide them or dissimulate them, and there is always Photoshop!
  • Pack the night before, that will give you time to remember if you forgot anything.
  • Get a good night sleep. Tiredness can not be Photoshoped away.
  • Don’t be shy to ask for specific poses or full nudes, I want you to be happy with your images, at the end of the day it’s your shoot!
